Big Muddy
Big Muddy is a Bakken oil exploration play located in Southeast Saskatchewan.

It consists of 107 sections (68,862 acres) of land with 100 per cent working interest in one large contiguous land block. The land is situated just west of an area where industry has spent over $400 million. Drilling for the Bakken Formation as well as various Mississippian targets has been the catalyst for this recent industry activity.
RMP has drilled two vertical wells that have tested currently uneconomic oil rates. Also, a Bakken horizontal well has been drilled that tested oil but at insufficient quantities for economic production at this time. RMP is evaluating its results and is encouraged that the Bakken Formation appears to be oil-bearing. Further technical work is progressing on the land block to determine the validity for future Bakken potential.
Oil has also been tested from the Birdbear Formation in one of the wells, and the potential for completion of this zone is being evaluated. Multiple targets exist on seismically defined structures throughout the land base and RMP may undertake further exploration and delineation of its extensive land base in 2012.
